Ahoj,

Wow it has been a tough but amazing week here at the MTC I wish y'all could come out on Sundays and experience what sundays are like here at the MTC cause you would be blown away at some of the stuff that we get taught here, I was blown away and my scriptures were worn out by the end of sunday, it was just amazing.

I Want to wish my sister Jenilyn a Happy Birthday yesterday and hope that it was good. I heard that you had a swimming party and everything and it was just great, I hope that you got a great gift. I want to know how year round is treating you JeniLyn now that you have started it cause I don't know if I could do that week in and week out up that early and swimming that would just be tough.

BreAnne what an interesting letter you sent me the other day, so I just wanted to respond to some of the things that you were asking in your letter. The Missionary mall stuff hasn't come at all the only thing that has come is the backpack and I got that the second day that I was here, other than that the thermals and the coat have not come yet. The person behind me and Geoff I don't know what the picture looks like so I couldn't tell you, but I have one that I think is better if I get the other memory chip back I can give you all the pictures that I have gotten so far out here because I have a few and you might want to see some.

MiKae, I thought you hated Michelle (My old beater of a car) so I don't know what you are doing calling it your bloody car, just have fun with the golf clubs go and take dad out golfing because he needs to get back out on the golfing range cause it is amazing just to get that hour or 2 a week on the golf course. How is the marching band doing, esp. your section cause I am getting ridiculed enough out here about being a marching band freak but I love it. Where are all my letters that you are sending me cause it seems like you haven't sent any yet and I am waiting to hear how you feel marching band is going.

Miss EmmiLee thank you for the couple of letters that you have sent me the picture that you drew is up on my wall in my room and I love it, it is soooo cool. I am so glad that you found your sandal though cause the lord does help you after you do the stuff that he wants you to do for him, I hope that you gave him a thank you in a prayer cause that is something that he definently needs cause the Lord most definently helped you out there.

Now a little bit about my week here at the MTC and what it is like and some of the rules that just came out. So this week has been a hard week for me just trying to do everything, my motto this week has been "100%", doing 100% of everything that is asked of me, it was very hard had a couple of times with my own emotions but as I kept asking god for strength and done everything that I was feeling I have gotten better, but I have a lot I want to do to get to the point where I want to be, but I love my companions they are great. They came out this week with a no music policy that is really making all of us mad out here because we love listening to music during everything, but it is one of those things where the Presidents of the MTC has asked us to stop and have no music at all, and that is what we are doing and it is hard but the lord is helping us through it. And along with that all the Tie Trades are done which makes me sad. I love tie trades, I don't have a single tie that I came here with, but to keep in line with that 100% I will stop going to them and will just have to follow what they say here.

The Czech Language is hard, it is probably the hardest for me but I am getting better. I am still having trouble pronouncing the letters and stuff which in turn everything in Czech is from the Letters and I am having trouble pronoucing the words, but it is getting better. But I am able to do an array of things in Czech and will hopefully be able to do a lot more by the time I talk to you next week. I can bear my testimony, Pray in Czech, and Just randomly come up to people and talk to them for a little bit it is great. But last week when we went to the TRC (Where we teach and show off everything we learned over the week in session of volunteers that come out and be investigators for us) I didn't really get a single word that they were telling us, but with the help of the lord this week I think I will get a lot of what they are say to us and I can talk with them a little more because I am feeling more and more confident with it everyday.

Some of the needs that I would say that I have if at all possible that can be taken care of are, Music on CD's (yes, even though they have that new policy of no music, I would like it for the field), and a USB power source that you can plug into the wall. I would like some letters from friends cause I haven't gotten any yet where are you my friends, are you really my friends? I hope my brother has put up the address on the blog, and go to dearelder.com it is the easiest way to get a hold of me it is great. About the luggage, tell Rob to find me the front desk today wouldn't allow me to leave it up there, but I do have it ready, but there is a pair of shoes in there where the lace has broke from missionary mall and I would love to have that replaced.

FSOTW- So I was in the RC (The place where we do outbound calls to see if people got the stuff they ordered off the TV and everything) and there was one where I got a catholic mother. I start talking to her and find out this thing was for her 44 year old son that still lives with here and she just comes out and says "I sure to god hope that he can get his life in order, that little ba*****!" It was hilarious

But I am doing great, not having a bunch of homesickness at all, the food is great and everything is going well. I hope that all is going well at home, hope the lord is blessing you as much as he is blessing me if not more. and can't wait to hear from you more. Keep up all the hard work in school and work.

Love Always,

Starsi Osborn

Callin's email 8/18/09

Ajoy (Ahoy),

It has been a great week here at the MTC from the time that you droped me off at the MTC to now it has just been go go go, and I only have a half an hour to write so don't email me right now, email me when I get out to the Mission Field approx. Oct. 12.

Let me hurry and get through a lot of the things that I want to get through in this letter because I have a lot to get through so it might not be perfect in wording but I will get through as much as I Possibly can.

Let me start off with the language, man what a tough language this is I don't know if i can learn this language in 9 weeks, the russians are here for 11 and my teachers have said that our language is harder, that is how much harder we are working than they are working. I am starting to get the sound of the language but trying to pronounce the words has been giving me troubles but I hope by the time I get out of here I will be a pro with the pronounciation of the words.

Next I will tell you a little bit about my companions and district. I have 2 companions and 8 people in my district we are all the people going out to the Czech Republic. My companions are Elder Andersen from Houston, Texas he is sooo coool he is very athletic and made it to state in like 9 different sports, and in Texas that isn't easy at all. and Elder Vivona from Indianapolis, he loves to laugh and we joke around with each other all the time, and all three of us are having a blast together. Then in my district we have Elder Bown for Switzerland, Elder McGowan from New Jersey (It is a bit of a dump, haha, King Julian), Elder Darrington from a small town in southern Idaho by Burley, Elder Rigby from Riverton, and Sister Newbold from Layton (Layon). We go everywhere together we probably have the tightest group here in the MTC it is great, we are all different and great for eachother. They have started writing a book with all the quirky quotes that I have said here in the MTC.

The MTC is great here it has a sweet spirit yet it is always go go go, until 10:30 at night when everything all of the sudden stops everywhere. But meeting up with some old friends of mine that I haven't seen in a while, and then meeting up with people I really missed namely Elder Bodily. But it takes a lot of time to get used to this place we as a district were so confused with what we were supposed to be doing on Sunday, and we got in sooo much trouble by the Branch President. But I love it here, I wish I could have this spirit with me all the time after my mission.

You guys have been asking about the snacks that i have. They are doing alright right now, the Gummy Bears are almost out and everything else is doing alright with the levels. If I need anything i will need shampoo coming up here but it is doing fine right now.

I just want to say if you want to write me don't write me emails, keep writing me off of Dearelder.com That has been getting to me and I can only answer these and write letters on P-Day which is Tuesdays for me here in the MTC. So I hope that MiKae has put that address on the blog and emailed the people so they know where to get a hold of me. If not, this is a great reminder to you my brother (elderosborn.blogspot.com)

Now to the Funny Story of the Week (FSOTW) We were practicing door approaches yesterday for class, it was our first time ever doing them and we were just supposed to get to know a little about the person on the other side of the door after we knock, and the person behind the door was one of our teachers so we knew but we had to introduce ourselves and everything. So my companionship goes and knocks on the door that my teacher is behind, he comes and opens the door. He says A saying that I have never heard before, so I thought I would look smart so I decide to answer him back with the same thing that he said at the door. So I said that and he just starts laughing at me. I come to find out that he said as he was opening the door "Who is it" so I just answered him back as "Who is it" we haven't stoped laughing over that one yet.

I gave away all my ties that were not conservative and got some others that were conservative in the tie trade. That includes the Orange flower chineese looking one (My baby) It has been the hardest thing for me to let go of right now, but I know that the lord will bless me for doing that. I even got rid of the pink ones mother.

I am sorry to hear that the sickness it going around there at home it doesn't sound good. I hope that as school starts you guys are going to have fun.

I love it out here keep sending the letters whenever you want I can't respond to them until P-day but I will respond, that I something I promise you. Keep up all your hard work and talk to y'all next week.

Much Love,

Starsi Osborn

"Czech" back in a couple of days when the letters start coming home.
